  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

645/617 Development?

Trust me they are... I mean they better be, the Epic 645 will be my Bread and Butter ;)

I believe you Ketch ... lol ... also Jarred/Jim if you are listening I'm really hoping you can have the Leica "S" mount available this summer. I know it's not super high on the priority list in the grand scheme of things, especially considering many more Nikon and Canon users are out there.

But these lenses are designed to capture uncanny amounts of detail and I believe will be the perfect compliment to the Epic S35 and future models. Even if you don't have the AF programming aspect ready, just the mount so that we could use manual with the S lenses would be enough in the beginning. Thanks!!

What you are saying then Ketch, is that you can neither confirm nor deny any rumours that these cameras are still in development and are TOTALLY AWESOME!

Epic 645 FTW!!!

Will be my bread and butter too. I have a feature sitting in pre-production limbo just so I can shoot on that camera. Well, alright, I'm also willing to shoot on 70/15 IMAX if someone wants to donate a huge wad of money. To be honest, I'm in need of the huge wad of money either way... Hoping to have funding so I can shoot next year.

I do love FF frame and the Canon 1Ds series has been my workhorse since the very first model and now with the MK III, I'm very
happy, but ever since that day that I shot MF it was all over for 35mm sensor and me, well I still use it, it does has its uses, but MF it is
were it is at for me, and while I will keep busy with the Leica S2, I absolutely can't wait for the Epic 645, and if you guys only had but
the smallest idea of what is going to happen with the new Studios venture, you would know what I have in store for that Bad Boy!! ;)

The Monstro sensor... FF35, 645 and 617, are all moving down the development path. You will see them and you won't know what to do with all the resolution. :-)

28k wide? Makes me think of movies like Total Recall with life like wall panel screens. That content will have to come from somewhere. I'm certainly not going to photomerge hundreds of frames from multiple cameras!

The Storage Makers must love you. Does Seagate or WD send you a Christmas card every year?

Thanks Jim. That's unbelievable news and hopefully we can see them by NAB in 2012 ... that is, if the world doesn't end first :-P

He he, trust me Jim,

that when you see what I have planned you will understand how well all the resolution comes to play ;)

So... NAB... NAB ;)

Jim: I'm most interested in 645 as it seems to be full "real" IMAX resolution but with the possibility of using relatively inexpensive high quality used glass like kamiya, Pentax, hasselblad. I'm thinking along the lines of typical IMAX nature and documentary fare.

My question is will the 645 sensor fit in the current epic size body? (which is about the same as my pentax 645) or can you ballpark how much larger height width length would be..

The 645 body will be bigger than the current EPIC. We are not willing to give out dimensions yet.
