  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

64 gb CF card

Forget it. The is currently no CF card on the market fast enough other than the one from Lexar, which is labeled by Red. No 16 GB yet, not even mentioning 64 GB.

Sorry,

Uli

I thought the same thing when I saw that post on engadget. Mircrodia is a huge maker or cf...most likely one of the name brands buys from them. Theoretically it should work.. you should try it out and tell me how it works. Although it definitely wont work on the epic and scarlet.

someone please ask for a demo card to test in RED see if they will go for it!

write protect?

write protect?

I was under the impression that RED have introduced something internally through firmware where as no 3rd party cards will work whatsoever. This is to protect RED and customers. This may have just been rumour so as far as this is concerned i would wait until someone from RED chimes in and corrects it..if not well there must be some truth to it. But give em time, it's a weekend!

It's very common for advertised speeds to be peak burst rates - RED requires a sustained high write speed, which seems to be the hurdle with most 300x and faster cards.

I'm very skeptical about that card.
