is it best to buy 6 red ones or 2 alexa? My friend told me buy Alexa because it is not broken as much. But I think 6 red ones much better. price almost same but really Alexa 3 times better? Sorry my english not so goot.

what will the cameras be used for? Rental? To do your own productions? Having used all flavors of RED I can assure you the cameras work just fine. Same with Alexa. There are differences for sure and that would be a matter of testing and determining what suits your needs best.

Depends what you want in a camera. If it's just the comfort that the Arri logo on the side gives you, yeah, Alexa is better

But seriously, I guess for shooting television the Alexa has some advantages, since you can get a 1080p ProRes file out of the camera, but for cinema, I'd always go for the RED - the resolution is a few times greater, dynamic range is about the same - the only downside is that it requires more computer power and time in post production to process it.

if you have an avid worklfow and want to edit in dnxhd red has even more advantages.

alexa is good in ergonomics, DR is good, resolution is weak.
red`s DR is good, resolution awesome and its raw

Alexa has great DR and it works. Resolution is the problem. Prores is good and works for FCP workflow, but can have issues with Avid.

Red MX has good DR and can require you to pay a little more attention to keep the camera working perfect. Resolution is AWESOME and Redcode Raw is Awesome.

The real cost of both cameras is the accessories and related gear to make the usable. Sticks, mattebox , follow focus, batts........ That stuff cost more than either camera.
