  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

6.3.6 build no Over lays on HDSDI out?

Minor bug. Turn overlays off on HDMI and you can then turn them on in HDSDI.

Thanks Chris. That worked but also found that you must have your touch screen plugged in which is normal to make changes and set your camera up after a build change, and not have anything on the HDSDI output attached. After repeating this process several times to make sure it was the monitor plugged in and not something else it worked perfectly. When my Small HD Super Bright was plugged in and in the menu for the Overlay setup all I could get was a choice of CLEAN. Soon as I unplugged the monitor bam all the choices came up. Go figure..
So if your having issues like I did try unplugging the monitor from the HDSDI connections and then do the setup on your overlays. I was totally blown away that you would have to do this but Im glad its working.

Are you saying that having a monitor plugged into the HDSDI port made a difference in the UI options available? The camera cannot detect if an HDSDI monitor is plugged in or not so I find this hard to believe.

By the way, the original bug of not being able to assign Overlay to HDSDI without first removing Overlay from another monitor will be fixed in the next 6.3.x release.

Thanks Trent. That s what I'm saying about the HDSDI monitor connection issue.
I will check again to make sure that's what I'm seeing. Or that I did not inadvertently or somehow click the HD MI on and off at the same time as finding the clean or overlay on the HD SDI. I know I thought the same that there would be no way for that to make sense but maybe it was a late night with new builds and I missed something. I'll go back and check again and if I find the same Ill try to give you a detailed checklist of what happened to create that same issue.

When did this build come out? Is there a list of bug fixes?

When did which build come out?

- Russ is asking about the 6.3.6 BETA, which came out April 16, 2016 (NAB).
- There is a newer version of the beta, 6.3.10, which came out May 17, 2016.
- I mentioned that this bug will be fixed in a future 6.3.x release, TBD.

You can always find the latest RELEASE and BETA builds here along with a list of bug fixes.

Thank you for your input and help all.
Seems to be working now I think I was not exiting the page after making the changes to Prioity, seems Im still learning all the subtleties of which monitor, LCD, EVF, HDSDI to put up on the priority list and when does the camera default to the next in line on the Priority list, and that it really won't show until you exit that part of the menu page and then change the overlays etc etc etc. Man there are a lot of choices on this camera..

I'm glad things are working for you. The monitor control dialog, as you discovered, behaves differently than most others. Settings that affect the monitor setup are deferred until the dialog is closed. This is to allow you to completely setup all your monitors without: locking you out, switching the control surface on you, flipping your monitor, etc while you are still making changes.
