5K is alive...

[Johann Schulz]

One shot of a dog and the world goes crazy! Not just any god, I mean dog, and of course, not just any shot. Sublime. I love the quality of the image, (and still, of RED1,2). As has been stated so much, it's not film and it's definitely NOT video or HD, it's a whole new frontier. Does anyone want to start an adjective thread? Or one on particular comparisons with other formats or cams? Done, right. But this evo-revolution doesn't quit. I haven't been surfing much lately and I've only read 7 pages of the posts on this thread, so I hope I'm not stepping on any toes. Or more importantly, missing any other great updates! :>)

Needs more duct tape.

Thanks very much for showing us this stuff. I can't imagine anybody like Canon or Sony showing off early prototype stuff like this.

I know. This is just unbelievable...every time I venture to this site, I know I could be in for some new surprise. It really just keeps getting better.

Damn, Jim. Damn. Wow.

woof

I am not a cheater.

[Jaime Vallés]

Awesome! That picture just makes me want to own a dog really bad!

It feels like only yesterday that we were drooling over the first images from the 4K sensor. I can't wait to see this 5K in action!!!

[J. Eric Camp]

Astounding!

I must say your willingness to share these initial grabs is both exhilarating and frustrating at the same time.

The former because no major company to my knowledge has been so forth coming and open. It makes us feel "in the loop" and thats nice.

It's frustrating because I would love to be there.

So now for me to get grabby: (answer at your discretion)

Is this at RC225?

What glass?

What color space?

Was it slightly graded or is this native (insert color space)? I see you said 8 bit screen grab... so am I to assume that blacks that rich are happening natively in the new Redcode?

I am giddy to say the least at this brave new world.

[Axel Mertes]

I'll take that as a compliment ( I think )

heh heh heh.

In that context the dog looks way better than you did with your first RED self portraits, way back then...

heh heh heh

Axel

PS: You simply have a differen fur I think. Thats why.

[Jonathon Laing]

Jarred, you my friend have the best fricken job in the world

:matrix: :matrix: :matrix:

[Jerrod Cordell]

So, it's Frankie as in "Frankenstein"?........"It's ALIVE...!!"

Did you need several lightning strikes to get him powered up? :usd:

I think instead of Frankie 2, they should name it Young Frankie.

"It's FrankenSTEEN!"

[Radoslav Karapetkov]

I bet Enzo never knew he had that much detail.

[Tico Llaurador]

All this talk about dogs... Now I can't help but to wonder... does Offhollywood have a pet mascot???

Mark? Please tell me you have at least something like a Beauceron or a Great Pyrenees in there.

You know... get a leg up on RED's Enzo...

Just sayin'...

[Roberto Lequeux]

No more grabs?

MORE! Show us 6k now!!!

[Curran Giddens]

You know... get a leg up on RED's Enzo...

Breadbox - my favorite one

ol good Frankie 1

he he he

[Edward Mendoza]

While giving birth? No. She'd have killed me. But as she was cut up and emptied ( ;-) ) and didn't give birth "the normal way" I was kind of glad that I didn't...

But she gave her okay for two 2/3" Scarlet because I didn't do (First I wanted to, as everyone with a Camera would) so it's perfectly okay for me. I filmed the whole first day at the hospital

But back to topic.

This Shit looks awesome. Need to Post it.

As soon as Scarlet comes out, we're gonna go ahead and have our next baby: we'll have two Scarlets in the delivery room on jibs shooting at 5K 24p, possibly ramping to 60p for the cutting of the umbilical cord. We'll have two more rigged up in Postpartum and even have one of the nurses rigged up via steadicam. :w00t:

for a second, i thought you were thinking of shooting the "making of your baby" in 5k. haha

I take it that last shot if from the dragstrip? Nothing like being a millionaire and pulling your own strings to get things accomplished. I wonder if that shot is from when they shot that video of the line judge with the tires gripping and smoking him out.

[arun]

So jimm who is this girl scarlet or epic?

[Vico Martin]

Wow, congrats Red Team.
thanks for involve everybody in 5k born, your way is the way!
