I was just curious if the 5k 2.4:1 is actually the same as the 4.5k 2.4:1?... If one plans on shooting 2.4:1 on the epic, would it be wiser to just shoot full 5k full frame and crop it after the fact, preserving the top and bottom in case you need to reposition frame in post?

thanks.

Hello Max

Most of the time I am shooting it is for a 2.4:1 release product. Most of the I shoot full frame for the option of repositioning in post, which works great.

The two main impacts of shooting full frame instead of 5K 2.4:1 on the epic are Max FPS is reduced from 120 FPS to 96 FPS and record time on media is less since more data is being written to SSD card. For most users this is not a problem since you can get approx. 1 hr at 8:1 compression on a 256GB card
