... but Heinz ain't one.

That's the premise of the following submission to the Heinz 57 Take Two contest currently going on.

It was a chance for me to put the RED in a commercial production workflow ... production through post ... and see how she handles. All in all, it came together really well.

The porta-jib traveller was a little overloaded with the scissor arm attached, but worked just fine without it. We had one day with minimal crew on build 14. Every shot but the first was on the RED 18-50mm. The opening was the Canon K-35 25-120mm on about 85mm. With the light crew and finite location, we worked mostly with silks and bounce, the lights stayed on the truck. There's about 3 - 5 stops of ND in at all times.

The slow-mo toss of the fries I'm a bit unhappy with. Seams a bit too smeared for my tastes when it gets to the end. We shot it that at 60 fps and I sped up the front section to normal in post.

Finished in ProRes (HQ) at 1080p24 and the link is a h.264 50% res of that.

Take a look ... post your thoughts. I'm always open to ideas.

Jason

A quick grab on set with the camera up and fellow DP Jesse Dana (thankfully helping out) and Producer/Director Ryan Gates checking the monitor. I'm not responsible for Bob Brindley's socks and sandals combination.
