Hi, I've had my Scarlet for about a month now and the swivel/spin action on the 5" touch LCD has been quite tight and rigid. Last night I was shooting about the house and when adjusting the screen slightly it suddenly got looser. Not like it was going to fall off or anything, but noticeably looser. Is this normal? How tight are most people's LCDs when spinning? Doesn't seem broken or an issue, just thought I'd ask.

Thanks!

Same here.. I tried tightening the screws but it did nothing. I would love to know how to make it stiff again. (No Viagra jokes ok..)

Well you walked right into that one Robino

But seriously, I've had mine for about 10 months now and it's still pretty rigid. I haven't noticed any loosening. You should file a support ticket with RED and I'm sure they'll take care of it for you.

Thanks for all of the speedy responses. At least I'm not the only one, but it doesn't appear to be normal per se.

With the holidays coming up I'll see how it goes and if it gets looser or I feel it is a concern I'll file a support ticket in the early new year - with out polar opposite seasons I'm actually pretty busy with the camera over the December/January period so will hand with it.

Three small torx screws under the sticker that covers the non-socket side. Tightens the hinge up, and a dot of nail polish or mild threadlocker stops them from backing out again. Loose screws on the EPIC seems to be commonplace, I tend to just tighten them up and threadlock as necessary as I notice them coming loose (or occasionally appearing in the bottom of the flight case if they have fallen out entirely!) happens too often to send in the offending camera each time (although I hope after 18 months I have discovered all of them!)

Sorry did you mean left/right movement? I know the forward/backward movement can come loose. I haven't had to tighten up the left/right movement but I'd start by looking under the T-shaped bit of plastic around that swivel movement and tighten up the screws that are revealed upon removing that T-section.

Mine is left/right loose. On my LCD I'm not sure where you mean, I can't tell any obvious plastic or things to remove or screws to tighten? Thanks for taking the time.
