You only need beta 5 if you want higher fps (up to 36 for 4kWS) or want to save some space on your SSDs, otherwise just shoot 4k and crop afterwards. Use the framing guide feature to frame for your desired aspect ratio. That way you'll have space for reframing or even shoot for different aspect-ratios.

Maik, personally, for me I've wanted 4KWS since I bought my camera. This was GREAT for me. 36 fps doesn't really help or do anything for me but it's welcomed just as well. It definitely makes me wonder if eventually Scarlet will be able to shoot 59.94 fps at 4K... That would be AWESOME RED. (Hint, hint)

Take it off adaptive mode in the fan setting. Heard about overheat issues

You do realize that 4KWS is actually less resolution than 4K, and that like the previous poster was saying, it's actually better to shoot 4K and crop it later in post for options. The benefits of 4KWS are not the wideness of the frame (because it's the exact same wideness as 4K) but it does allow for a lower compression ratio and 36fps)

Shot with the new firmware all day today and it's been great. 2k WS @ 75fps works great, same with 3K WS @ 60fps. The only issue I encountered was on board audio (for scratch track) - I wasn't able to get it to work. Anyone else experienced this issue?

I have no problems with audio on the beta.
Keep in mind that your audio will not work if the clip frame rate does not match your project frame rate.

Did a recent test too, works like a charm. It also adds 5:1 compression.
