So...Here's a unique one!
We've got a Pandoras Box feeding three 720p Projectors displaying three video feeds across a 100' screen. For the panoramic content, we're shooting RED 4K, doing offline edit of proxies in FCP. We're looking at buying Crimson for XML export to REDCine, but we need to finish in AE b/c of the bizarre 5:1 comp size. Not sure what the best way to relink the REDCine exported 4K finals to AE. We can AutoDuck the FCP sequences, but they'd link to the proxies so we'd have to manually relink every shot, especially if they're image sequences.

Would LOVE any thoughts.

Thanks,

I would just use Crimson to comform back into FCP and then Autoduck out to AE. That way you get the quick comform of Crimson and the quick conversion benefits of Autoduck

I would but FCP can't import 4K r3d's and we need the 4K res.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Ohhh, yeah, I must have glazed the 4K part. Hmm, manually replacing in AE is the only way I could see it now. Time consuming but not terribly hard. I wouldn't relink, though, I'd import all the 4k footage into the AE project and do a select and replace into the timeline for each shot, much easier on the image sequences. I did this on the OpenCut project before we purchased Crimson and it went smoothly, albeit sloooow. Sorry I couldn't help more good luck :)
