Hi, can anyone help me to better understand new scarlet 4K (cropped/windowed) format?
- Which is the real format in pixel?
- Which aspect ratio is possible? (16:9, 2:1, etc)

thanks.

On Scarlet-X the 4K frame size is 4096 x 2160. You can also record at 4K HD which is 3840 x 2160; that is exactly twice 1920 x 1080 in both H and V dimensions, so scales down to 1080p very easily and with maximum precision.

Will it acquire less computer power to scale down from QHD to HD then from 4K to HD?

For a given quality level yes (or your computer takes more time) because an exact 2:1 scaling requires fewer filter taps than for non-integer scaling.

Are possible 2:1 or 2,4:1 formats? .

You can just vertically crop your 4096 x 2160 master to either of those resolutions in REDCINE-X before you export you editing / finishing files.

Scarlet-X provides pre-defiined frame guides to assist composition in those aspects.
