I was searching around and looking for the record time breakdown for the 4K RAW but was having trouble. I'm sure it was right under my nose. How much record time do you get on the 320 GB Red drive? Or rather how many gb/sec is it for this format?

Well if people are getting 4.5 minutes on a 8 GB CF card, that means a 320 GB drive (if all 320 GB are available for storage) holds 180 minutes = 3 hours. But I don't have a red and I don't know if any of these numbers are accurate.

Also be aware the Redcode RAW Codec has a variable bitrate. The Limits of the variation haven't been released. Also currently those numbers don't include Audio, as it hasn't been enabled yet.

It's been posted quite a few times on Reduser that the variable rate is around 27MBps. I presume detailed shots will go over and less detailed shots may very well fall under. I recall that tests on 266x Compact Flash cards proved to be ever so slightly too slow with their write capabilities and occassionally bottlenecked. As a result only 300x CF has been confirmed as fast enough. One of the problems is that manufacturers of CF cards don't always give true figures for their cards so variations can occur.

Having said that I'd guess the 266x cards were topping out at about 30MBps. So perhaps that's a safe number to use to work out how much is the minimum you might get. Just shy of 3 hours on a RedDrive and between 4.5 to 5 minutes on an 8GB CF card is a fair bet.
