4K FRIENDLY MACHINE/IMAC

Howzit guys,

Would love some advice on what I need to do to buff up my rendering on my current iMac or if need be what machine I should look at getting to process the footage from my RAVEN in FCPX. Im currently using the iMac 21in 2.9GHz i5 with 8gb 1600 MHz DDR3 !!!!

Please shoot over any advice !

Well any machine you use .... The best performance upgrade is maxing out your ram....

as as far as a new machine , the newer 5k iMacs work really well with its dedicated 2gb (4gb) card , and Ofcourse maxed out ram.

I only suggest 2 things.
-Reduce preview window from 100% to 25%.
-For long clips, or long edits, anything above 15 min., keep editing till end of the day (if you have more to edit) and render over night (while you are a sleep).

5k iMac has been working extremely well for me.
