Here is the OFFICIAL trailer link for my feature film and Facebook page. My "creative" financing to get this film made is going to make a great book! Or film... hmmmm. We didn't get the MX upgrade until the last week of post production. So, I was able to utilize it for a few shots. I keep being advised to stop saying I spent so little but I just can't. Bottom line is... I knew if we could get it shot then I could finish it. I want all aspiring and fellow film makers to know that it can be done! Here you go... hope you enjoy:

Thanks guys for the compliments. I really could go on and on of cost breakdown. Suffice it to say, obviously, all of our equipment was already owned and what we didn't have we borrowed when we needed it. Cast and crew all donated their time and efforts over a 6 month period. All locations were all free (except one). The editing, color grading, and most of the audio mix was done by me.

Having been through making a feature, I applaud your effort. You have to will these things into existence.

... while it's fun to talk about making it for 5k, that's not the real cost of the project. The time, equipment, all have an associated cost, and productions try to account for that. Just because it's not on your books, doesn't mean it didn't cost someone. (All your favors and volunteers)

I'm sure this was a labor of love, just be clear that that's the case to avoid some of the community backlash like what happened over here...

I absolutely agree Zach. Not to de-value anyone's time, efforts and energy... nor the value behind the equipment, etc. The sacrifices made by many is incalculable and treasured beyond measure. Added all up... it is a considerable sum. Not meaning to come off as bragadocious with the whole 5k thing. Just hopefully I can inspire or help someone who is "waiting" for financing to come through or wondering if they will ever get their film made (like I was).

It looks like you got amazing production value for a volunteer project. Hats off to you and your crew. It's truly great that you got that buy-in over that amount of time. I wish the best for your project.

Thank you

Thank you

Thanks Andrew for your inspiration. Helps to counter the 100's of people telling me it can not be done and trying to talk me out of having a go before I die and go to heaven.

Thanks Zach and James! Yes, I was very lucky and fortunate. I posted that famous quote from Basil King above my desk - "Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid." On or around another "partial"-day 4, my friend turned to me and said "Let's just keep shooting and see what happens." By far one of the most unconventional and difficult ways of getting it done but done nonetheless.

Looks great Andrew. Really nice lighting and composition. Also like the grade.

Acting is quite good for volunteer cast. You obviously have some strong friendships and/or major credit in the favor-bank!

Well done!

Thanks Jim!

I did the grade in Color and my cast was all local. My background was in Theatre Perfomance (an actor by trade) before switching to Film. I think acting talent is everywhere, you just have to look a little harder in some places with casting (I read different people on and off for almost a year and a half) and I had to be a little bit more creative with direction on set with the various levels of experience.

I've lived in Las Vegas for 15 years now. So, yes, I have accumulated some great friendships/relationships and a little credit in the favor-bank. However, I am up to my elbows in "re-favoring" but well worth it :)
