I tried to open a 4k anamorphic file that I shot today in redcine and it kinda works. Then starts to get really buggy, turn crazy colors, then the screen goes totally crazy, freezes then I have to do a hard reboot.

Tried 6 times. Same result every time. Anyone else having this problem?

Hi Chris,

Never heard of this happening, can you still import other non-ana footage and work in Redcine?

Kevin

Yes, I imported some of Jared's 4k 2:1 footage from red relay into red alert and red cine. Worked perfectly.

It was a very odd screen that appeared when I attempted anamorphic import. It looked normal at first, then the screen turned half pixelated (the entire screen looked like what happens when you open a 4k 16x9 quicktime in QT player), but you could kinda see red cine through it. It got worse and worse until the screen went crazy colors and shapes, then I hard rebooted.

It's my first outing with red cine so maybe the laptop I have isn't right for the job. It's a mac pro with 1 gig ram.

I'm not ruling out operator (me) error in not having the right mac for the job. Whatdya think?

I've found that our Macbook Pro won't display Full Res at all (probably due to insufficient GPU memory but that's only a guess). Maybe setting Half Res High and trying again could solve the problem?

when I open the file, the default resolution is half res high. Same issue. I actually can't really even change any settings. When I click something, things start to go badly...... and get worse with each click.
