4k ANA on the Red One - SDI out?

Hey everyone,

I've been doing some searches on the forum, but haven't quite found anything. I am shooting anamorphic on the RED ONE next week, and I have a few questions. If there is a guide to shooting anamorphic on the RED, please point me to it.

Concerning the 4K ANA mode, does it only de-squeeze the image for the viewfinder, or does it already record de-squeezed files? Also, what is output through the SDI out? Is the image already de-squeezed or do I have to manually set whatever monitor is attached to de-squeeze the image to the correct aspect ration?

SDI Out is also de-squeezed

Thanks Philip! But the recorded files are still squeezed then I take it?

Yes, but your dit/post can easy de-squeeze it for rushes in redcine-x (simply press anamorphic..) and later in the online edit/conforming your colorist set anamorphic 2x or even set the right pixel aspect for 2x anamorphic in davince, nucoda, lustre, baselite...etc...
