45 Drives Storeinator?

Greetings,

Its high time I get a serious data management system up and running. Has anyone had any experience with the http://www.45drives.com/ Storinator?

Got my eye on the workstation- http://www.45drives.com/products/workstation/

If not any other recommendations for a similar setup that works well with Mac?

They have great storage systems that can grow with your needs. Linus and a bunch of youtubers use them. From time to time I do custom water cooled work stations and I often recommend their storage to go along with. Minus the enclosure that their parent company protocase makes, it’s all stuff you can buy off the shelf, but NAS setup and maintenance can be a bit much for the average computer user. As for their workstation I’d pass, especially for r3d footage. It would be easy to make a kick ass rackmount watercooled pc to go along with their storage enclosure that would smoke that one. Hit me up if you need some help.

Storage is pretty cheap, the drawback is that it's not ideal to hot-swap a drive, for a small office it's a pretty good solution.
Our to build EPYC DIY storage server (FreeNas) has the advantage of easy hotswap and optane write cache (40Gb/s ethernet) but is more expensive.

The workstation would not be my choice.

a nice boring QNAP will work perfectly for 6K and 8K workflow, and you can share it among multiple users. This way, you are not custom building anything.
They have 8 , 12 , 16 and 24 bay units, and they can all be expanded.

Disappointed that Storinator and 45Drives will NOT be at NAB 2018 ! Was hoping to see that product.
