Hi there,

Could you guys please share with me your thoughts about buying a Red One MX according to specific conditions below?

I have a contact with a seller in my town which selling a 4067 hours Red One MX.
On the other hand, I have a contact with a seller in different country which selling a 189 hours Red One MX.

All other specs/accessories are the same.

4067 camera have some fixed pattern noise. Maybe not properly black shading calibrated, but also maybe the sensor is old.
189 hours camera have only a slightly bit of fixed pattern noise. Maybe not properly black shading calibrated, but I can't say the 189 hours is the old sensor at all.

189 hours camera is a $4090 + $1250 is a import charges, shipping, PayPal fee. Total is $5340.
4067 hours camera is a $3050 total.
Difference between prices is a $2290

So, if there a significant difference between 4067 and 189 sensor hours cameras is then what exactly?

Which one from this two cameras would be more likely to buy?
(if a $2290 is a your average 3 month saving money speed and you are need a clean image without fixed pattern noise if properly black shading calibrated)

Thanks in advance.

The high sensor time itself isn't going to be an issue. The other parts of the camera, with the high usage, is what I would be looking into. The back joystick of the RED One can get worn out, and fans, etc. If you go with the higher hour one (I know I would), I would do the Transfer of Ownership and do the full inspection on the RED One. It adds $600 (or more if they find something they need to repair), but this will get you a 90 day warranty, and factory checked to be safe.

You can also talk to a rep and have the owner send the camera to Red for the inspection and have the rep contact you with the status then have it shipped to you after... may cost less. I don't trust anyone outside of the USA, I tried that and ran into a scam so I got mine state side.
