  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

4 New OLPF's for Dragon!

Rob, sorry if my post did not make sense in regards to positioning and torque.

In a nutshell, the sensor itself is not touched. No new glass is introduced. The OLPFs used in fixed versus swappable are the same.

>>@Lakis - you want the full spectrum OLPF too. It'll give you everything, and allow you to choose your filtration to pick the colour (or IR) range you want. Bear in mind however that our IR spectrum filter is a long-pass... ie. all kinds of near-IR will work, up to the point where the sensor stops responding.

That's awesome John! Can you put me in line for all of the above x 2? Or do I need to do something in your site? When I'll be able to have them about?
Thanks!

Great stuff Charles.

We have a trickle of backorders starting to fulfil from next week, and a new batch coming in not long after.

Hey John,

Any test shots yet from your new low con olpfs? Really excited about these!

...generally they look the same, a bit of a white / blooming glow to them. It all depends on the filtration you put in front of the lens as well. Really fun to experiment with, especially for the cost.

Nice. Checked out your videos on Vimeo. Incredible work man! Curious to know whether you use any particular LUTS or film grain software? I saw your comment about animating some medium format grain?

...thanks Michael, appreciate it! For the IR stuff not really, just a ton of curve bending.

For the more creative stuff yeah, scanning medium format film and animating it and getting some nice texture. I haven't gotten too into LUTs, but I hear good things about them. I'm all about layers and layers of curves.

Jake, I'll only be taking orders once we're ready to ship. Please mail me via the site or here if you want to go on the waiting list for priority when they ship. I don't intend taking anyone's money until I have stock ready to go. If you have a pressing need to (for example) spend budget while it exists I can make a special arrangement.

John, very excited to try your OLPFs, thank you for your tenacity and making them available to us.

Question, I just ordered a Full Spectrum OLPF and few other bits.
Your website says that they won't be in stock for another 7 weeks but my account have already been charged,
does this mean they are ready to ship or was there a glitch somewhere?

Hoping the former! :)

Cheers,

Milan

Hi Milan,

The wait isn't as long as that, new parts are coming in as of today - I need to update the ETA... I think 3-4 weeks right now.

Paypal and our online store doesn't give us the opportunity to place a backorder without processing the payment. If you want to stand in line for the point when stock is available without being charged, just email me and I can arrange that.

I originally didn't allow backorders on the store for this reason, but I've had far more people ask to spend their money and wait than I've had complain at paying upfront and waiting a while, so I made the change...

If you're not happy with that, I'll happily refund your payment and put you on the wait list. Those who've paid up on a backorder always get priority over the non-paid waiting list as you'd expect.

We'll have the low cons back up soon - just re-configuring them a little, and will be updating the store with other new stuff soon too.

Just double checked on our full spectrum glass too. ETA is 3 weeks at this point.

Charles - amazing test. What filters are you pairing IN FRONT of the lens?
