I had to shoot a quick plate in my house a few weeks back and had my camera built up in my kitchen where my 3 year old thought it would be fun to yank on the pan arm of the tripod, causing the camera to topple over. Terrible sound.

Anyway, the 4.7" monitors hinge ripped and while it still works...it sometimes freaks out.

Has anyone had a repair on these monitors? Is it worth it vs. just buying a new one?

Well, I was shooting on our Epic-W using the 7.0'' screen when a bump into a boulder turned into the screen being ripped off of the hindges, and because the cabling then snapped under the weight, it ended up being close to a $800 repair. Worth it in my opinion since buying a new screen is roughly $3,000.

Woof. That’s tough.

Agreed that repair cost is worth it. But if the 4.7 is the same repair cost, it might be less so.

Had the top left button dented / pressed in, most likely from bumping into something, $720.00 repair. They had to replace the screen and the whole board. Hopefully yours will be less, but I feel like there aren’t a lot of “serviceable” parts in the screens.
