Hello,
I'm a bit stumped with REDCINE-X, as this is my first RED edit. We shot 4.5k and Quad HD, but I edited the R3D files natively within Premiere Pro CS6 on a 4.5k sequence, so naturally the Quad HD files don't match in the sequence in terms of frame size. Now, I want to convert both instances of footage to 2K, so I have a 2K edit, which I can export to HD 1080p, but as I said, I can't fathom out how to do this via REDCINE-X. Instead, I've created a 2K 2.35:1 (2048x872) sequence in Premiere Pro, copied over my original sequence and then scaled and adjusted the positions of the individual clips so that they look correct within the sequence.
Firstly, IS THIS OKAY!? A huge part of me tells me this is more than wrong and I'm doing it incorrectly, so could anyone shed some light on how I could do it correctly?
I apologise in advance for the extremely amateurish approach to this, but I'm a Director, not an editor (but we don't have an editor, hence me filling in)
