4.5k for a 1: 2.40 film finish using avid?

Hey, we are working out our workflow for a feature film in australia and want to use the 4.5k widescreen. Am i gonna run into trouble using avid mc for our offline? Is Avid up to this yet? Can we indeed shoot 4.5k for 1:2.40 if we are editing in avid? If so .....could someone please tell me how? we are in preproduction and not getting much useful information.

It will be a letterbox "fit width" to 16:9 HD dailies. As long as the tools you are using can do that you are all set. I need to check ROCKETCINE-X but REDCINE-X does not do it yet. Deanan mentioned in a thread it is fixed in the next release.

...and I believe MetFuze v2,x supports it correctly as letterbox as well. Should be out before month's end.

My system can do 4.5K DI/CC/NLE/MIX and output 4.5K TIF or other resize and letter box, since no film recorders take 4.5K, do they, you would need to re-format the image for squeeze to 4K or 2K see this Celco site for the ratios, like 1828x1556 for Scope output.

for 4K output the pixel size is 2:1 squeeze and 3656 X 3112...
