I am starting to shoot some 2nd unit this weekend on our first independent feature. The fall colors are beautiful right now.
I was going to commit to 4.5K 2.40:1 at Redcode 42 but I noticed in American Cinematographer that Jeff Cronenwaith had done the Social Network for 2.40:1 shooting at 4K 2:1. I'm not sure why. It would seem to me that the higher resolution of 4.5K would be better, but I guess you have more fudge factor on frame adjustments, especially North-South with the 4096x2048 frame.
What are your thoughts on this? I would really appreciate your input before I commit.
Thanks in advance.
