  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

4:3 or 3:2 HDRx format for stills on Scarlet.

This is to give my vote for a non wide format to make it possible to use as much vertical pixels as possible and still use HDRx on the scarlet.

IF the QuadHD format with HDRx comes true, I am eyeballing that a 3,5k x 2,4k or a little less could also be possible and still allow HDRx on the Scarlet.

Why? In the print industry the need for 16:9 or 2:1 wide aspect ratios is not much there. So to be able to shoot video and at the same time capture as much useful info in short shuttertime second stream HDRx as posible, this cropping will be very useful. If one has an EPIC this is not a problem. Go full 5k HDRx and you have you two streams that blend nicely together in beatiuful motion rendering or use the separate short shutter pin sharp frames for print. Not so for the scarlet. At the moment we are limited to 1,6k pixels vertically on a landscape image from a HDRx stream. That is a wee bit too little. QuadHD HDRx will give 2,1k vertically - a cropped 4:3 or 3:2 would give approximately 2,4k vertically.

Thank you to Red that we know you listen and make possible what is possible.
