  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

3k to 4k?

Most filmouts are 2K. But that's at the studio level for their screenings and such. Most of the general release prints are about 1K because the high speed printing method doesn't provide that good of a transfer off the negative.

So as I've been told and seen at work. 35mm negative is rated at about 6K, then the answer print off of the original camera negative is about 4K and then the EK wetgate prints are rated at 2K. Most people never see anything above 1K in the theater. Unless the theater you go to is a big deal type of place or you just see your movies at the premieres for them. IMAX is the exception as long as the film was shot in that format.

Shooting in 4K and 3K seems to be the way things are going to go as far as Red camera shooting goes.

Andrew.nice. somehow you got your project on Imbd already. awesome. I always spend months and months after we wrap trying to get it up... do you have a secret way to get "in production" projects up?

PS looks like a great cast of kids.
