Hi all!

This is a dumb question from a newbie - can you record mixed resolutions on the same RED-DRIVE for instance 4K and 3K on the same drive??

Morten

Not a dumb question at all. Yes you can combine 2k, 3 & 4k - at varying framerates as well. Good luck.

Nick.

You can change the resolution, quality, shooting frame rate just as long as the project frame rate stays the same.

Yes, this thing confused me at first because i remember that before there were limitations in having different project settings (res, base frame rate but not varispeed) on the same media. Seems this has changed in newer firmware builds.
A lot has changed since i first ordered my RED!
remember about having limitations running both EVF and LCD?

You can change frame rates within the same PROJECT frame rate.

So, your project frame rate may be 23.98 at 4K, but going down to 2K to get to 120fps [over-cranked] in "Varispeed" mode is no problemo.

Then, when you play back both your over-cranked footage, it will play at 23.98 fps. Which is awesome.
