I'm not sure it is a camera.... I thought it was some kind of rig to allow 2 x Epic or 2 x Scarlet to fit perfectly together?

It's just a Red rig to adjust convergence and inter-ocular offset of two Epics or Scarlets...
And there hasn't really been any new info about it since posted.
(At least that I've come across.)

I think it's a really nice design, though.
It's compact, gives you a 3D preview through EVF and should be a lower price point than Panasonic's $20,000 3D camera.
The only issue might be linking the focal distance to the convergence point during a focus pull...

If you look at the base of the rig, it's variable.

There's obviously a minimum distance, and that's an unknown.

Mr. Jannard stated at Red Day February 13th that more than just having a rig Red is going to have production of a 3D solution that will follow the release of Scarlet. He related that you couldn't have a solution involving Scarlet without the existance of Scarlet and that is why the 3D solution will follow months thereafter.

He stated that they are taking 2 tracks, producing cameras that will serve the 3D community while furthering the art of 3D with their own forward thinking movements (paraphrasing).

3D solution? Is that like stereo support in RedCine-X (and maybe the QT plugin)? Perhaps it will also include some viewing solution like a shutter glasses system for RedRocket or something?
