  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

3D model of Epic?

Really? I would think RED would be able to provide a STEP or Parasolid model of it to suppliers (with all the internal detail removed of course) for use in designing and showcasing their 3rd party products.

If it can't be provided, and it is ok with RED, I'd be more than happy to model this up in SolidWorks and render it out in something like KeyShot for others to use.

Curt,

Thank you!! I missed that thread!!

I would start measuring my Epic, well, if I had received it yet :) Still waiting for the email of joy!!

I am buying a small CNC mill and design/machine those items not otherwise in the market that I need for my kit. Plus design/machining is a good mental exercise and distraction.

I just got some of Wooden Cameras gear. Beautiful!! Love the mix of precise metal work and old-world Leather!! And was amazing to work with as well.

I'm having some time to find measurements of the just the back of Epic? Any body?

The one figure we would like to know exactly is Epic base plate to exact lens center, its not on the drawings. We calculate 11.8mm. Can one one confirm this is correct ?

Thanks,

Dimensions and diagrams are published in the back of the Epic manual on the Red site.

Not the back of Epic - no measurements nor drawings.
