  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

3D IMAX vs DRAGON

Can't go past 2 x 6K Dragons on a 3ality Atom beam splitter rig with full control over IO and convergence.

Thing is you could carry this up to Mount Everest in a sack, can't say the same for an atom and dragons.

Time for special 70mm sized Dragon with bigger photosites and more lightweight custom "Stereo-70" type electronic lens system for 3D. This thing better produce at least the same picture quality as Phantom 65 camera it was based on. I'm more intrigued what Arri and Panavision cooking on 65mm, large format and IMAX front.

I agree with that 100% but I don't also think that the full potential of the Dragon has been explored yet.

I play every day with 3D and in many cases I love to shoot with the Epics as far apart as 2 meters. With the right lenses you get endless depth/3D value (my term)...

The story must told the best possible way and a limiting set of lenses and inter axial distance must work very negatively.

How about 70mm AND high speed? Cmon Red make a $250,000 camera for the select few that would compensate for the costs! A testament to cinema that will last long like phantom 65mm...not that dragon isn't cool and all but 70 or 65mm is the stuff the greats will pay top dollar for. charge a million even, just build it for the michael bays of the world...
