Has anyone tried out the new SLRmagic 35/0.95 yet?
It comes with an M-mount and the image circle is said to cover APS-H, which is good enough for the Dragon Sensor i suppose

The sample images appear to be an honest representation, warts and all. I am not so sure it will be so good in motion imaging except for being able to capture in formerly unusuable low light. In some images, the areas of sharp focus at certain distances appear to be of a donut pattern, sharpest in centre and sharper in corners. The peripheral bokeh also exhibits an abberation as a concentric distortion. These artifacts are familiar old friends from 35mm groundglass adaptor days. They may only be apparent in certain focus/aperture combinations. The flatout wide open night motion images seem to be faithfully sharp across the frame.

My guess is that lots of ND plus IR filtering will need to be constant companions in normal daylight environments for this lens to do what it does best.

For peering into the gloom and letting the subject do the moving, this lens will be magic as the motion vision demonstrates. Using this lens in a lateral tracking or pan shot may not be so pretty. Using a pair for 3D may give the viewer a headache rather hastily. Lit carefully, with iris and focus set to introduce the abberent focus pattern, for a dramatic scenario of the hero stalking around in the dark for a baddie and something sinister sneaking into frame in that patch of peripheral sharpness - magic I reckon in 3D on a big screen.

Sadly, pass on this one shall I as mere coins to conserve I must. But all of you more pecunous folk have my unreserved blessing to go right ahead.
