  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

35mm DOF Adapter on Scarlet - (35mm FOV 2k in R3D)

I regularly use a 20mm f2.8 Nikon, 50mm f1.4 Pentax, 100mm f2.8 Nikon, 135mm f3.5 Pentax, 24-70 f2.8 Sigma all on the full frame 5D mk ii.

I shoot a lot of action, often in less than ideal light. 20mm (my widest present lens) doesn't really give you many degrees when you shoot 4k. I'm expecting to be shooting 3k most of the time too so I can overcrank without having to mix resolutions.

So my ideal lens list includes the Canon 8-15mm as I way of getting that wide angle (16-30mm at 3k) but it's not very fast (f4). But that's an IDEAL option, not a cheap one! Also until I can get my hands on a Scarlet I'm not even sure it will be up to the task - worrying about CA mainly!

If you're concerned about FOV, perhaps there are other solutions we can look at?

I'm open to ANY suggestions :wink5: ...other than 'why don't you just buy some Cooke primes?!?!' because I really don't have that sort of money to spend. Canon L-series is a stretch.
