  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

3 week shoot in Los Angeles starts feb.15th

No offense but more information will help you get better results.

Are you looking for just a camera rental? Do you have insurance?
Do you need to hire a crew?

Hope you find what you need.

thanks for the response, Dan. yes it says the shoot has insurance and so far it's just a 3 week shoot needing camera rental. it's a sublease and don't know what all they need brutha. i know they need primes and looking for inventory lists to be sent asap. if you can do that and your cam is avail then awesome!

Why does anyone need an inventory list? TELL the rental person/house what you want and get a quote...

$1200 a week? WITH primes?!

they asked to see a inventory list of what equip. you can provide in your package, not a reason to get touchy. the rate is negotiable at this early stage. people with stronger packages will most likely be considered more. if you dont want to dont do it.

You are missing the point - no one should be hired based on what they own.
A production needs something, they tell the supplier they need "X" and the supplier gets it to them.

I don't own primes but I can get a great deal and then re-rent them out to you for example....

If the rate was $1200/day, I MIGHT consider walking away from LOST and getting on a plane (that you pay for) and coming back to LA....

i am a Red owner and renter and toootally getcha. yes, that is how it's done most of the time. they asked for equip lists so i am just providing them with such. as a renter you cater to a client sometimes if you want the buisness. The cinematographer might see little toys you have that he just simply must have also. you feel me on that? and no 1200 a day type of gig. sounds like you should chill in hawaii there are plenty of people here in los angeles already without paying plane fee's and alll that. congrats on LOST! stay where it's good dude!!

be careful though on low rates in LA - production IS ramping up and fast right now. 50 features slated thus far and pilots like craaaazy...

believe me, it takes a lot to get me off this island
