Been a busy summer with the Red for me. First, there was Beat Union. This one has been airing on Fuse for 2-3 weeks:

Then there was The Rocket Summer:

Lastly, Against Me! This one has Tegan from Tegan & Sara in it too:

very impressive stuff :) thanks for sharing it

Fuhkin awesome Nate!

All 3 vidz are super sizzlin - I really like Against Me! the most.

How are you encoding for the web? It looks very crisp

Nice work on all of them, I love the stuff in the radio station on Can't stop the radio! Keep posting man, this stuff's inspiring!

Care to share any info on the shoots, setup, workflow etc?

Cal

Good work. I like the last one the best, though that may be because of the songs. Someone should tell the guys in the second video to stop bouncing around like Hanson. Nice shooting though.

Wow!

Wow!

Nate, the "Against Me" video has amazing flow and is one of my new favs... I would be very grateful to hear more about your process, your "creative" and approach to coverage. I have watched it now about 20 times... what an incredible vibe.

I have loads of questions...

Thanks man.

BTW, all the videos were outstanding, but the "Against Me" video hit me on a whole other level.

Nate, I agree with everyone here.
It all just looks freaking awesome!

and how did you get it to look so good for the web?
what did you compress it with/as?

thanks, ps. let us know when you do more!

I'd agree with this also. It works well on many levels and captures the spirit of the band really well.

*bump*

I would still be very interested in any details we can get...

Whoa. That last video, "Against Me," was simply stunning.

Tell us more about the shoot. How'd you get that stuttered look towards the end?

The video did the job, 'cause I'm going to buy that song (first time I've heard of this band).

Well done.
Thanks for sharing.
I'm gonna go watch it again now.

As I sit tight waiting for details tonight on cameras...I forget that people were asking questions here.

Web compression is just the Quicktime web preset that's labeled "LAN/broadband". It's h264 at about 1300kbits, and AAC audio at maybe 80?

I'm not sure what other details to give. Against Me! was 2 cameras, 11 passes over maybe 3-4 hours. The photo looking parts were exactly that, still photos from a Canon 40D and put together as particles in Motion (random frames). That way I could modify the attack and delay of how each frame came and went.

Rocket Summer was a hot one day shoot in Dallas, with the photo parts again stills from a Canon on a 50mm 1.8, shot over the course of 2 months.
