Hi
3 videos shot on RED. Very different budgets and artists - and different workflows :-)

Nik & Jay :
Shot RED 4K (slowmo 2K). Colourgrading in the Lustre 4k. Output to HDSR - load FCP prores HD. Edit FCP in ProRes HD. Final master Prores HD

Ida Aida :
Shot RED 4K (slowmo 2K) All files converted in REDrushes to prores. Edit in HD FCP. Colourgrading and all compositing in FCP.

Szhirley : (actually our first RED test)
Shot 2K. All colourgrading and online in FCP

I dont know what there saying but I LIKE IT.
locations, direction, dp work, color correction, and music across the board this video is fresh.

Szhriley, has some creative editing and lighting nice.

May i ask what kinds of budgets are spent in these videos.
Thanks.

Really nice.

Can I ask about the difference in grading?

Nik & Jay really has that punchy, gorgeous look about it. Do you attribute that to Lustre? You can see the difference even on the white/black cyc shots that are consistent between all the videos.

Before grading did the footage look closer to the other clips?

Great job!

It's a mix between how I shot it and the grading in the Lustre. The B/W effect is done in FCP though. Well the raw material is "flat" from the RED camera as you know. The different looks in the 3 videos is mainly because of the different styles. lighting and location.

Question on this one. What was the process of getting from the R3D into Lustre? What color space did you work in? DPX, Tiffs, Cineon's? Just curious as this could affect the final look too.

Nice looking work. I love the that in the Szhirley video she is just sitting on the dolly tracks. Can I use/modify that idea sometime?

Thanks! I wouldn't mind swinging by Denmark... or staying there for that matter ;oP
