Like a lot of people I don't care for viewfinders and skipped the Red viewfinder altogether. I would like to get a 2nd ProLCD on my Red One however. I recall hearing somewhere that the viewfinder port lacked the power to drive an LCD. If that's true could a special cable be devised that draws power from one of the two rear accessory ports?

It's not so much a power issue. The EVF and LCD have different signals all together.

The EVF is 1280 x 848 with it's control interface.

The LCD is 1024 x 600 with it's different control interface.

You can not plug the LCD into the EVF port and get an image, external power or not.

If that's the issue then couldn't the firmware be altered to allow for an adjustment? (I suppose it it cold they would have by now...)
