Hey lads,

So ill be shooting a mv soon, wanted to know whats the situation with shooting anamorphic and needing to shoot 300fps at times, does it have a 2kANA 300fps option?

Thanks.

epic MX supports anamorphic only in 5K, but even if there was such an option you'll do way better shooting 5K 90fps and slowing it down in twixtor, the latest one is really good just keep it 16:9 and apply twixtor before you interpret the footage to anamorphic format, and avoid any fast motion in the frame, the warping is still bad

he he,
I wouldn't even try to twixtor the 'rain', but if you plan your shots to avoid any fast motion in the frame, I think twixtor is a better idea as oppose to shoot 2k
I shot this @ 5k 70 fps , but it wasn't meant to be twixtored from the beginning.

or just freakin rent the Phantom :)

What if i shoot 2k 300fps with my anamorphic lens, then crop left right later?

Well number one, last time I used my epic (which I admit was a couple firmware updates ago) 300fps ONLY worked on 2k WS...did not work on 2k HD. So I have to wonder if you shoot 2k WS and cut off the edges at what point is it going to result in a worse image? I am also against twixtor. The ideal answer you won't like, which is book a Phantom 4k Flex. The second best answer is do the 300fps chop the edge thing. Third best I think is twixtor.. Oh and if you go the Phantom route I am available and could cut you a deal on the teching if you need one (shameless plug)

You will get more resolution shooting 5KWS spherical, only shoot anamorphic if you're looking for the anamorphic "Look". I have a set of the new Schneider streak filters for when I want anamorphic flares.
Here is a video I shot using the blue and orange streak filters on Optimo DP zooms and Zeiss Super Speeds...
