Hey guys,

Not found any thread on this.

I would like to know if you encountered a "blurry shots" issue shooting in 2K RAW?
We shot multiple rushs 2K 240fps with EF L series lenses (which work perfectly in 4K/5K) and got blurry results. Like the whole image is under a global blur.

So I'm wondering if we missed something in the settings or if we need to change lenses? Maybe. We are a bit lost at this point.

If you have experience on this side I would really appreciate you to help me understand why it happened and how to have sharp footage in 2K 240p.

Yes, it’s normal. First of, you’re magnifying the lens rather heavily, thus you see how your lens resolve in a 200% magnified way. Also, it’s a bayer pattern sensor, which means you loose about 30% of resolution due to bayer image algorithm. Overall I find 3k the lowest acceptable resolution on Red cameras.

Thank you Alex! Very interesting to know.
In a way I'm reassured it's "normal".

We will try 3K with Red Pro Prime lenses too to evaluate the quality.

Have to say though, it’s pretty much the same on BM Ursa Mini pro G2. When set to highest FPS in 2k it has similar response in quality of the image.

You can think of it this way - it’s the same loss in quality as if you magnify into your 5k image on post to about ~250% scaling.
