  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

25p drop frames

Sorry if you've covered this... where is the sound losing sync, in RCX or post transcoding syncing to separately recorded audio? FCP can mess up the playback speed for non-tc audio by applying a 30fps TC rate in 25fps timelines, often happens if you've recently binned prefs. The waveform looks right but the audio drifts badly... related?

I shoot 25fps daily and FF is my staple... not seen this issue, but have had audio sync issues and traced it to FCP, not the camera or audio rec.

Ok...am pretty certain we have a camera fault...

On the shoot I was having jittery pans and restarted the camera a lot which stopped the jittery pans...this ties in with the post issue I am having

was the jittery pans happening when you turned HDRx on? / I have heard of one camera with similar problem when shooting in 4k every second frame would "drop" - that was a camera problem.

I remember seeing jittery footage in 24fps mode as well. I think it happened when I was messing with shutter speeds. Once I saw this I would re-boot and the camera would be fine. Its maybe happened twice since I have had my Epic. But the jitter that I was seeing was crazy and very obvious. I'm thinking that it might be some kind of sync between the Epic and the touch screen. So it might not be this same problem.

I know its a silly question, but did you record scratch sound from the M, this might tell you if the sync is out to the secondary recorded sound.

Hi John,

Im very interested in hdrx as l shoot a lot of run and gun abroad, and a lot of times can't wait around for the right light as pressed for times.
Interested to hear your views.

Check that you lockits are calibrated. Lockits from rental houses always should be freshly calibrated because they can be in weird conditions.
