25mm vs 28mm Lens choice

Filling in my base set of lenses (21, 35, 50, 60, 85, 135) in Contax Zeiss. I don't want to own both as they're too close to each other and I'm being frugal.

Any recommendations of 25 vs 28? Although both are considered wide and it's a small difference I'm thinking 28mm. I've read of slightly less distortion, and if I need to go wide I just jump to the 21. Any thoughts/opinions?

28 is halfway between 21 and 35, so that seems like a logical choice...

The Contax 28 f2 is also a stop faster than the 25 2.8...

Haha, my thoughts exactly. Some people prefer certain focal lengths and just wanted to hear why.

The 28mm is the better choice with that existing range. Plus the 28mm f/2 Zeiss is a LOVELY bit of glass.

From memory the 28/2 has better close focus than the 28/2.8

Yeah - but it matches close enough! And the ninja-star is almost none-existant. It's still totally worth it.

Yup, it does...and at F2 has gorgeous bokeh too!

That's good to know about the ninja star. On the 60 it's pretty obvious when in non-macro mode.
