Hello fellow REDUSERS...I'm based out of the US (NYC) and I shoot 23.976 as my timebase. I just had one of my clients book me to shoot for PAL. I have shot for PAL in the past with my SONY CineAlta F-900 set @ 25Fps - 50Hz. I see that EPIC allows me to change the timebase to 25. Is all that I need to do to shoot for PAL is change the timebase to 25? Also, does EPIC automatically shoot @ 50Hz when in 25 timebase?...and if so...any flicker issues with standard 60Hz tungsten lights with my shutter angle @ 180 degrees? Finally...should I assume that 180 degrees is the standard shutter setting for normal motion blur @ 25fps? A reply to ANY of my questions will be greatly appreciated!

Hey Jim,

I live in Aus and shoot PAL 25.00 timebase for almost all my projects, with varying frame rates from 25-120 with no issues here. Yes just simply set your project timebase to 25.00 fps.

Tungsten lights shouldn't give you any pulse ever as they are a constant light sources. HMI, Fluro and even LED are a different story all together.

The monitoring out options in the menu allow you to send a variety of refresh rates to your monitors for viewing etc I often choose, 50Hz, 25Hz or AUTO with no issue, again as it's just monitoring from the HD-SDI out.

Shooting TV screens or monitors could be tricky though, but I can't speak from experience when working in another countries TV system.
