  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

2014 Reel

Hey Marlon, got some great stuff in there firstly and foremost. If it was me I would cut it down and just show your very best, 2/2 and a half mins max. the track isn't really doing it for me either. As a director when i'm looking through Dp's reels I want to be excited by what they have shot, hook me visually so I want to pick up the phone and give you a call.

Obviously a very talented Cinematographer. Opening shot is killer! Also, I love how the music rises right as the sun peaks through the cloud at 0:40 :)
 
Really nice shots in there Marlon! The only suggestion I have is to intersperse the landscape/timelapses of SF that you have in the beginning throughout the reel. After the 2nd timelapse it made me think that this was either a landscape or timelapse reel and that's what you specialize in. If I had closed it after 15-20 seconds into it I might not have seen all the nice narrative and commercial stuff that you have.
