  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

2 Possible Red Raven configurations....ADVICE NEEDED!

Thanks for all of the information guys! All of the comments have some really good points. I decided at first I will go with the Redvolt XL option. The Music Videos that I will shoot first have no dialogue. Eventually I still want to get the Base Expander, but its not essential till probably next year or when I start getting enough requests for dialog in the videos. This seems lighter and more chance to not mess up the screen. So this is the idea for now:

PACKAGE 2:


Red Raven Brain $5,950
Red Touch 4.7” LCD $1,450
Redvolt XL Module $1,150
Redvolt XL (2 Pack) $675
240GB Mag $1,700
RED Station $195
Side Handle ? (once all options are shown I'll decide on this)

Next purchases after a couple more lenses are another Mag, another Redvolt XL, and the Base Expander.

you should at least get two 120 mags instead of one 240 to be able to get through a day of shooting and downloading. probably pick one up cheap around april/may.

Yes, that and getting another Redvolt are concerning. I think once I get the side handle situated I will go for either another 240 or 120 depending on the side handle cost. Also I'm not sure if I should wait on the reader for a couple of months to see if any thunderbolt ones come out or if the current one gets upgraded.

Lots of minimags on the used/lightly used market, too. I picked up a 512g for the price of a new 240gb.
 
Wonder if there will be a lot of used/not wanted 4.7 RED touch LCDs as people who opted for the package want the 7" That would be great. Along with people not wanting there 120gb mini mags.

I'm selling mine right away for the 7"! Though I'll keep the 120GB as an emergency card for sure.
