This may be a lame question, but since I've not done this, and I don't have an Epic in front of me, can you jam sync TC to the Epic with a Lock-it box?

yes you can but you will need the red sync cable from lemo to 3 bnc. TC, genlock and shutter sync.

no. I think its smaller than the R1 lemo.

New sync cable is available and RED sells it for about $100.

Make sure the timecode is set to external in the menus, and plug in the lockit into the yellow BNC. Look for the TC indicator on the epic LCD to turn green, and the timecode to jump. Of course, make sure the Lockit is set to output timecode at your project frame rate (23.98).
