Hi All,

I have two (2) CalDigit HDPro 16TB Raid Towers I'd like to sell. I upgraded the drives myself (they were originally smaller raids) - but they work perfectly. I used brand new Western Digital RE4 Enterprise 2TB HDDs (SATA II 3GBPS) for the replacement. Each tower has 8, so a total of 16TB (Well 15ish in reality). These are the v1 units. But are upgradeable to v2 buy upgrading the tower controller.

They are currently raided as RAID 6 - which gives you a final space of about 11.5 (15.2TB - 2X2TB Drives), but they could be raided however you need.

Speedwise I get about 500MB/s write and 600MB/s read in Raid 6.

The units come with the CalDigit single lane PCI-X Card, cable, and tower/power cable.

The latest software is available for free download from CalDigit (newest drivers/versions of Raid Sheild).

The units are compatible with both PC and MAC.

Lastly, from what I understand, you can upgrade these units to the CalDigit HDPro2 version by simply replacing the tower controller card (easy swap - just buy the card from CalDigit). This expands the speed/capability of the drive. However, please do check the CalDigit website for more details.

All sales are final, unless DOA/not working, in which case you may return.

Please just make an offer, for one or both - I honestly don't know what I would get for them as we did the upgrades ourselves.

Operationally perfect. Cosmetically, a few minor scratches on the side of the case, but overall they look great - no major blemishes.

I will pack them up very carefully and ship with insurance.

Thanks!

Nice. And the price?

PICTURES OF UNIT 1 OF 2

Hi, thanks for your interest. I powered up the units and took a few shots of them. Here is UNIT 1 of 2. I will post Unit 2 of 2 separately. Unit 2 of 2 was purchased at a different time (but upgraded by me at same time as unit 1) so all the 2tb drives match.

In addition to the 8 2TB drives in each tower - I can include for (fair market price) a new in box spare drive - purchased at same times as the (8) - as a spare drive in case of drive loss. These make perfect spares. They have never been opened.

Also you may be able to upgrade these with larger drives... CalDigit Tech support originally told me the HDPRO v1 would only RAID up to 12TB and I had to buy their "custom drives at $700 each" - but I had no problem just changing the drives myself (with top of the line RE4 Enterprise Raid Drives) and RAIDing them into a RAID 5 or RAID 6 at full capacity. That said - you may be able to swap out these 2TB drives for 4TB - but I can't guaruntee that as I never tried. Point is - I had no problem just buying the custom screwdriver - swapping the drives out with new RE4 drives, and bam - 16TB. Used them solidly for about 6 months - never a hiccup.

Hope these pictures help!!

PRICE:

The drives alone sell currently on Amazon (which is where I purchased them) for $190 each. 8 Drives = $1520. I'd like to realize $3300 for each tower- I'll pay shipping via UPS ground insured. That would include the tower, card, cable, drives, and power supply. If you want the 9th drive I can include that for an additional $140. New in Box - sealed. If you feel price is too high - make me an offer!!! :)

I'll offer money back if the drive isn't perfect working order (but no returns just because you changed your mind). The drives perform perfectly - and are cosmetically in great shape - jsut a few minor scuffs on side/scratch on right side lower corner of unit 1.

All in all 9 out 10 cosmetically, 10 out of 10 operationally. Stored in cool dry studio, non-smoking.

Selling because I am investing in a 10GBE Raid system (one massive shared raid (72TB) and dont have a need for these). But these are perfect for RED Workflow - sustained 400-600ish MB/s read write with 11TB capacity in RAID 6 (2 Drives can fail and you are safe). Can't go wrong!

Thanks again!
