2,8k @ 60 fps for 999 $

I would bet money that the amount of noise even at low ISO settings will be quite high.

Good 2nd or 3rd camera for Red Shoot

Good 2nd or 3rd camera for Red Shoot

Since most Red owners only have one camera, perhaps the Exilim could provide a low-cost, low-budget solution getting multiple angles of complex shot setups just in case those might be needed for post. For example, shoot straight on with the RED and then have two Exilim Pro EX-F1's on tripods at 30 degree angles. Could be cool with 6 or 7 of them for Matrix style music videos. Certainly wouldn't want to use the Exilim only but if shooting primarily with Red, the Exilim footage would provide some great edit options and cool effects at a low cost.

Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1 — a high speed digital camera boasting the world’s fastest* burst shooting performance

So it can shoot true 1920x1080p, even at 60fps? If so then this camera blows away all the handheld HD camcorders on the market today. That is closer to a prosumer camera like the EX-1.

What about sound?

Sony made the sensor. I expect much more coming soon.

it will be fun once canon, hasselblads and nikon will all be recording moving images sustained. convergences of markets are always interesting to watch.
i would guestimate 3-5 years.

I think the "video" recording is AVCHD. I don't know if it will shoot timelapse
and save as frames like my D200.
