Taking the recent pricing into account, what setups are people starting to put together...

So far, I am looking at this:

s2/3 - $2750
5" - $1600
Redmote - $550
CF mod - $500
battery module - $1250
Red mini primes - $5000

I'm still unsure on the I/O module for now.... does the 2/3" int. come with hmdi and xlr on the brain, like the fixed? I'm also concerned about rumours that the CF wont handle the fast fps... so might have to switch from CF mod to SSD.

What do others have in there list? (i'm not talking dream list here... but what you actually have planned).

your list is missing fast CF cards.. there's 90MB/s CF cards available on the market..
also missing the lens mount which will be like $250 for mini PL, maybe you need side handle.. no?
i think they offer hdmi and xlr in mini style..

Yea, CF cards, I class as a possible 3rd party accessory, so didn't list it.

I thought the mini primes would fit directly onto the 2/3"... seemed logical, as most PL lenses will be as good as useless for film making.

I know most people love the idea of modularity, but to me, it is hassle. RED needs to get all the real info they have and document it on their main site. It is a real pain having to sift through all the articles on here to find the facts.

Hi Jim, the Cinema Scarlet brain includes two independent microphone channels, balanced input circuits, 48v phantom power, digitized at 24-bit 48khz. The fixed lens Scarlet does have HDMI on the brain but I haven't seen anything about HDMI being included on the Cinema Scarlet brain. You may have to get the I/O module for that.

The miniRED primes need the mini PL mount which as of now is supposed to be included with the brains. It is a module and can be removed, however.

Thanks Justin... fingers crossed for HDMI out of the brain.

I really don't need the kind of I/O that the modules offer (for now), just stereo sound and an output for monitoring.

I'm pretty sure that HDMI wouldn't just be for the fixed. It'll probably be on all Scarlet and Epic brains.
