  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

1st Scarlet....

If all the scarlet footage is like this file then we are really seeing a huge change in motion picture capture.

Grading a tvc right now from Epic footage and there is so much info in the image it is amazing.

Literally keying every color and shade. It is like motion picture painting. May have to think up a new title. The term "Coloring" with this footage doesn't seem to do it justice. Anything is possible.

Finally got to play around with this file a little.

Went CSI on it.

LOL! as a moderately experienced colorist I have to love the reference and the subtle-until-you-look-for-them top and bottom gradients. NICE! Colorist humor.

So much info in these files for masks/windows/keys it is amazing.

Patrick, that looks amazing! Would love to see your take in these pictures from fellow reduser Will...

Ok, here's my take.

Neutral TIFF from REDCINE, slight S curve, secondary color correction on flesh tones (more orangy and lift in gamma), cooler shadows, unsharp mask, bright haze on uper right corner and grain.
