Hello all, Up till recently, I have been shooting all of Tempest Freerunnings Parkour/Freerunning videos on the Scarlet-X , but here is my FIRST one shot on the EPIC-X.

Epic X
Canon 14mm 2.8/L mk2 , Canon 50mm 1.2 , Sigma 30mm 1.4
Glidecam X-45 GOLD Hybrid
Glidecam VistaTrack Slider

Great job. Perfect use of ramping.

looks great..

what frame rates and formats did you use...

can you put up a higher resolution version?

great work...

sorry for the ignorance, where is this place?

dino

Thanks a lot guys for the comment! Much appreciated!

Dino, I shot mainly 96 FPS the entire time and then a few 150FPS shots of the bigger moves. We cut the video at 4K ( since we had a few shots 4K, felt like that was a good middle ground for the cropping of the 5K )

We worked with RED files the entire time and exported final to ProRes 4444

The location is Murphy's Ranch in Santa Monica, Old Nazi bunker abandon. If you are in LA , you should definitely go check it out, its about a 30 min hike to the location and we had to do that 6 days total!

Perhaps this one is not as creatively ( as in storyteller ) entertaining as your earlier "Frosty" clip. However, the evident potential for all manner of painful and injurious outcomes, successfully avoided by the artistry of this athlete, holds attention through the entire video presentation. Those launches from kneeling position are remarkable. My old joints just crack thinking about it. Those potentials for harm would not be apparent except for the slow-motion shots which lay them out in all their intimidating detail. Parkour-freerunning should have its opportunity to be an Olympic "feature" sport, or somebody should integrate it into one of the Games opening ceremonies one day. ( All that said by one who is as fit and agile as a tub of lard on a light bungee strap. )

thanks Robert! Always a pleasure to hear your comments =)

I don't even know what to say... That was really good dude! That Jesse La Flair is ridiculous and you nailed every shot. I loved the ramping and it never felt over used or mis timed. The camera movement was perfect and the location couldn't have been better. Bravo. I was on the fence about upgrading, but I think Red owes you a commission on my Epic upgrade now. Something about that 96 fps...

If you ever want to incorporate an octocopter into one of your shoots, let me know :) Peace.
