  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

1fps, 2fps, 4fps, etc, etc?

Hey Red Team,

I love my komodo! Fantastic work on this camera.

Can we add slower framerates than 24fps to the Komodo? I find my self wanting to do some time-lapse shots with my Komodo and shooting 24fps and speeding it up in post is a waste of card space.

It would be great to add a whole list of frames rates below 24fps in the next firmware update. At least:
15fps
12fps
8fps
4fps
2fps
1fps

Would it also be possible to also add very long exposure times to the camera? Exposure times longer than 1 second. Maybe like, 10sec, or 30sec shutter times?

Just wanted to throw this out there. Thanks!

I bet it's going to come up some time in the FW upgrade. The time-lapse features on any RED, except for Komodo (for now), are one of the best ones I've met. Frame averaging, frame summing, taking frames in bursts - literally anything possible.

I'm pretty sure they're going to make it possible somewhere in the future. The only reason for Red not to implement it - could be a bad marketing decision to cripple the camera even more (they've already protected their lineup with built-in RF mount and lack of slo-mo).

I was wondering about this also. With the global shutter you could get a "step printing" look closer to film which would be nice as well, at least in terms of the look of the motion.

Also single frame trigger like on the regular cameras would be great.

I'll add, I really want 1, 2 and 22 as a priority order.

Picking an exact frame rate would be unreal. Only thing missing IMO to make this camera perfect for what I do.
