1920 x 1080p form HD-SDI or HDMI?

Hi Folks,

Is it possible to get a 1920 x 1080p signal from the either the HD - SDI or HDMI outputs on the red one? I only can get 720p, the reason I ask because on the elementa technica breakout box it labels HD SDI 1 & 2 and then one at 720p which suggests the 1 & 2 would be different but I can't find away of getting more than a 720p signal when monitoring even though I can playback at 1920 x 1080p on a monitor.

the simple answer is no you can't.

The Red One has 720P monitoring only. Breakout Box is just an extension, it doesn't give new functionality.

From page 136 of the manual regarding the Preview HD-SDI output:

In playback, if PLAYBACK is set to 720p, the Preview output provides a 1280 x 720p 10-bit 4:2:2 pro- gressive scan video, at 59.94 or 50.00 Hz.
If PLAYBACK is set to 1080p, the Preview output provides a 1920 x 1080p 10-bit 4:2:2 progressive scan video signals at 23.98, 24.00, 25.00, or 29.97 Hz.

Thanks for taking the trouble to post. Thanks for the info Ron I think I've set the playback to 1080p but as yet no joy, I will double check it today.

Playback refers to just that, playing a clip back out of the camera at 1080p. Monitoring isn't effected by this and is 720p only.

Yes, exactly what Chris said. Monitoring is strictly 720p, playback can be at 1080p or 720p.
